We are just a few short weeks from harvesting this years garlic crop. Last year we commenced harvesting on the 10th November, and if we hadn't of bothered keeping records then these garlic scapes are heralding the same message......
So as you may imagine getting the drying shed built in time for the harvest has become our number 1 priority. Thus far the main shed footings and rat walls have been poured some 20 bags of cement later. While the cement hardens, DH and DS have been spending 12 hour days in the shed, prefabricating the walls. Pictured here is the first of five being put in place.
We were blessed to have our DDIL and grandchildren visit over the weekend. As with each visit, on top of the childrens list of "to do" are collecting the eggs (at seemingly 10 minute intervals) LOL this being Kaynes' job as he can actually reach the laying box.
and our grandaughters all time favourite ....... drum roll...... visiting the goats. It would seem that "Sunshine"(pictured with the blue collar) has actually taken a real shine to Charlotte and stands still to be patted and kissed. All in all it has been another busy and productive weekend with the added bonus of catching up with family.
