Autumn is over ........

Winter will hopefully (weather permitting) see us erecting the garlic drying shed, the awning over the back steps of the house and a bit of fencing, well thats the plan. DH has managed to get a woodstove which requires a little TLC so his pet project is to get it working and fitting it out with a hot water system (a step along the path of self reliance) my pet project, dare I mention it?? is to recover our lounge suite. I have never tackled anything like this before, so it will be interesting to say the least LOL.
For the past last week we have been busy building a shed, well actually extending and lining an extisting shed to be precise. Completed on Friday it now houses the rural brigades' fire truck and equipment freeing up our spare room just in time for a visit from our eldest son and family.
The grand kids love the farm, collecting the eggs is done almost on a hourly basis and they know when grandma asks for potatoes to cook for dinner that it doesn't entail a trip to town but actually getting ones hands dirty digging them up. The highlight of this visit was building a bonfire so that they could toast marshmellows. Lucky for us it wasn't as cold as it has been. A fitting end to a very busy weekend.

We also have an old wood stove to be fixed, if ever. Sound as if you have been busy. Good luck with it all.
