"Lucky" to be still alive that is.......

Like alot in the south east we have also been getting a drenching, the power was cut off so ergon energy sent in a helicopter to find the fault. It's not everyday you look up and see a low flying helicopter following the power line in our neck of the woods, trust me! Again the school bus has been cut off due to flooded creek crossings.

On the upside the planted pastures have been growing like weeds. Here are our milking does, "Lucy" (black collar) and "Lilly" (blue collar) inspecting their new paddock.

DD nearly 13, wanted something to keep all her newly purchased horse brushes and the like in. Of course it was needed before the afternoon session. (I thought to myself, "no worries my little homemaker, lets get you acquainted with the concept of sewing") Scarifying an old pair of jeans, which were cut up and then sewn together. A belt was made by cutting a strip of fabric from a cast off leg. Once this was done she added her own touches by adding a pink macrame belt, sewing on a black ribbon and ironing on some decorative patches. All in all she showed real creative flare and amazingly it was finished in time!

Our DS and DIL, dubbed "The frustrated farmers" currently have their pig here for a farm stay (apparently you can't keep a pig in the backyard in town) however, the pig got the notion that it would like to be a "free range" pig and dug its way out of its enclosure. This created pandemonium, frightening the horse and causing it to go through a wire fence, which sent everyone into a panic and the dog got hit by the electric fence!!!!! Long story short, the horses' injuries will heal, the dog thinks I'm the one responsible for its short burst of pain and eyes me wearily and with a bit of feed we managed to catch the pig. Which I wholeheartedly believe should be re- named "Lucky" that is lucky to still be alive!!!!
