1 xmas item a month - Feb finish

Firstly I have to confess, I had full intentions of weazling my way out of this months finish as my glasses are away currently being fitted with new lenses. Sound like a good excuse? However, today it has been miserable, raining and generally is just the right sort of day to craft. After being begrudingly excused from the garlic shed - "Its the 25th, I have to post my Christmas finish and I haven't even started!" I gleely made my way to my stash with a project in mind.
Feb finish - A book cover. I was lucky enough to win one of these as a prize which was made locally by a very talented lady and thought what a great idea! I was aiming for a "country-ish" style and lucky for me my sewing machine has decorative stitiches. The cover is fully lined and can be tossed in the washing machine when need be. It is designed to fit an A5 note book with sections.
I got to thinking that you could make a whole variety of these in different themes, like using kitchen print for a receipe book and so on. DD has already put in a order for a school note book while handing me some very bright and colourful fabric. Yeah, have a feeling I'll be making a few more of these and they are a quick-ish afternoon project. Looking forward to seeing what y'all have done .........

The cover looks very pretty and I like the idea of making themed covers. A great way to use up scraps too.

Thanks for your lovely comments. The Highland Hen and I made a pack to use up materials from our stash (cutting down on costs) when we could. :)
