New Heifer.........

My goodness time gets away. This is just a quick post to let everyone know that we are still here.

Its raining again, just like at Christmas time and once again the bus has been cut off due to flooding. So lucky for me DD received book club just the other week so is spending her time reading.

As mentioned in a previous post our thoughts of getting a house cow grew and last weekend we took possesion of a 9 month old jersey heifer. She is at present kept in the cattle yards where she can get out of the weather and we can start getting her used to us. Her name is "Miss Molly" and she has a great nature. I will post a picture as soon as it stops raining but at this rate maybe I should consider investing in a water proof camera hummm......

The news about Japan is devastating and we have a few close friends who live over there that we made while they were wwoofing here at our farm. Our thoughts are with you and your families at this time.

With Autumn now here it will soon be time to pick up our new buck for the breeding season. In readiness we have planned out new paddocks for the goats to rotate to as a measure against worm control. When we first fenced the farm it was for cattle not goats and its time we got things organized before the pitter patter of little hooves. All the materials have been purchased just need it to stop raining so we can start fencing.

Being trapped inside once again I think we'll finally finish setting up our computer and email addresses, yuck, but it has to be done.
